About
Commerce & Management Department
The college started department of Commerce and
Management on 1st July 1983 with the
objective of providing new commerce avenues to the
students, which further developed successively. The
college has established in the year 1978 with the
Arts faculty only. Keeping in mind the need of the
minority students regarding commerce education, the
institution has decided to start the commerce
faculty on 1st July 1983 with B.Com
course. Commerce department of our college has
excellent academic and research record. Our
department is considered as one of the best Commerce
department of the P.A.H. Solapur University
jurisdiction. We offer B.Com degree course. Commerce
department has produced ten charted accountants, one
company secretary, one ICWA, Five NET/SET/NET-JRF,
Multiple Businessmen, Entrepreneurs, Bankers,
Teachers, Professors Union and State government
employees and many more privet sectors employees.
Our department has produced the first Muslim
Minority Chartered Accountant of Solapur district
that is Mr. CA Mustaque Achkal.
Dr. M. A. Dalal was the first teacher who was
appointed as a Lecturer in Commerce and Adv. R. N.
Shaikh was appointed to teach the M. Law subject. In
the commerce faculty the second teacher was
appointed was Dr. H. M. Shaikh for the Accountancy.
In the year 2010, Dr. J. K. Mulla has been appointed
in department for commerce teaching and from 1st
August 2011, Dr. T. B. Ladaf has been appointed for
Business Economics.
As a matter of pride Dr. Jainoddin K. Mulla has
recognized as a Ph.D. guide for Commerce and
Management. Currently, 3 students are doing Ph.D.
under the guidance of Dr. Jainoddin K. Mulla.
Our department staff actively working on different
committees of P.A.H. Solapur University regarding
Examination and Syllabus formation. Dr. Jainoddin K.
Mulla is head of the department. He is member of
board of Studies of Commerce in P.A.H. Solapur
University, Solapur. He is also elected as a Senate
member of P.A.H. Solapur University, Solapur.
Dr. T. B. Ladaf elected as a member of board of
Studies of Business Economics in P.A.H. Solapur
University, Solapur.
I. Goals of the Department:

resource with Commerce knowledge.

To motivate the
students to became entrepreneur and to enrich the
entrepreneurship skills among the
students.

COMMERCE
LAB
Department has the commerce lab for giving commerce
practical exposure to the students. Commerce lab
contains Charts, Sample Bank Documents, Sample
Business Documents, Charts, Informative flowchart,
and Information of Commerce Personalities, Audio
Visual Aids and LCD projector. Mock commerce and
business activities are undertaken in Commerce Lab.
By this method of learning and practicing,
candidates will develop self-confidence of running a
business profitably and understand the practical
difficulties. In Commerce Lab students provided
online trading practice of Banking, Insurance,
E-Marketing, Taxation, Stock Exchange, Higher
Studies, Corporate Affairs, , Online Filling of IT
Forms, Banking Challans Etc.
Research Workshop of Commerce Students.
Seeing the importance of Research in commerce, the
department took initiative, first of its kind in PAH
Solapur University, to promote research activities
among B Com students. Hence, Commerce Department
started Research Workshop since 2012. This
initiative succeeded a lot and got appreciation from
University and Colleges. Further development of this
initiative resulted in organising

International Conference on Advancements in
Commerce, Engineering, Management and Technology (ICACEMT
2013) On 31 March 2013 first time in the
history of P.A.H. Solapur University.
